About The Position

San Diego State University (SDSU), a Carnegie-designated R1 research institution and federally recognized Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), seeks to hire a tenure-track Professor (Associate or Full Professor rank) with established expertise in Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science. Located along the U.S.-Mexico border, SDSU serves one of the most culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse regions in the nation. The university is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable academic community and seeks candidates whose research and community engagement contribute to improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities. The position is open to candidates across disciplines, with departmental home determined by the candidate's area of expertise. We are particularly interested in dissemination and implementation scientists with a strong record of externally funded research, including support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and a focus on health disparities research. In addition to serving as a faculty member, the candidate will serve as a core member and contributor to the SDSU HealthLINK Center for Transdisciplinary Health Research (SDSU HealthLINK Center). As a National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities funded U54 Center, the SDSU HealthLINK Center aims to promote a transdisciplinary approach to health research.

Requirements

Ph.D., M.D., or other terminal degree completed in a relevant discipline (e.g., public health, psychology, social work, human development, family science), with all degree requirements met.
Evidence of original research and scholarly achievements in the field of dissemination & implementation (D&I) science.
Demonstrated capacity to develop and grow a rigorous and independent program of D&I research and scholarship focused on health disparities at San Diego State University.
Demonstrated ability to develop, secure and sustain a strong, independent, and externally fundable research or scholarly program.
Demonstrated record of interdisciplinary and/or collaborative scholarship.
Ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Record of mentorship, including guiding early career faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and/or community collaborators.
Demonstrated capacity to contribute to campus, community, and professional service.
Demonstrated experience leading initiatives at the department, college, university, medical center, healthcare institution, or professional organization levels.
Commitment to shared governance, transparency, collegiality, and ethical engagement with all communities.
Experience engaging collaboratively with community-based organizations, health care organizations, tribal nations, or other partners.
Authorization to conduct background checks if they become a finalist for the position.
Disclosure of any final administrative decision or final judicial decision issued within the last seven years determining that the applicant committed sexual harassment.
