About The Position

Eurofins PSS West is seeking an Associate Formulations Scientist to support preformulation and formulation development at a client site in San Diego, California. Under guidance, the scientist prepares and characterizes prototype formulations for preclinical research, including oral, subcutaneous, and/or intravenous dosage forms for feasibility work and routine solutions and suspensions for preclinical studies. The role also evaluates formulation properties, stability, and performance, and conducts quantitative analyses using HPLC and supporting techniques. The scientist writes laboratory study protocols, records experimental procedures and observations in an electronic laboratory notebook, follows procedures consistently, and recognizes and escalates issues as appropriate. This is a full-time position with an 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule and occasional overtime. Candidates within commuting distance of San Diego are encouraged to apply. The position requires authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

  • Experience preparing formulations and running feasibility studies, including small-scale operations with guidance.
  • Quantitative analytical HPLC experience.
  • Experience running routine laboratory work on time, productively, and with consistent quality, including HPLC, DSC, PXRD, spectroscopy, solubility determinations, dissolution testing, and suspension processing.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, handle multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and comply with company policies.
