Under supervision, this role involves researching, conducting experiments, gathering data, developing preliminary findings, and preparing new products with written reports. The work spans from the conception of new product projects through their successful commercialization. The Associate Food Scientist will follow established protocols and work plans, draft technical proposals and reports for review, and utilize an on-line specification system for ingredients, formulation, and product tracking. This position requires a proactive self-starter who can plan, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently, adapting quickly to changing business needs. Responsibilities include executing experiments, using consumer insights to conceptualize and develop new product prototypes, formulating products to match target ingredient statements, nutritional profiles, costs, and attributes, and optimizing formulations using sensory tools. The role also involves presenting new product ideas, developing and documenting manufacturing processes, conducting key product quality, stability, cooking parameter, and safety testing, identifying cost-saving opportunities, documenting activities thoroughly, and developing project timelines in collaboration with management, marketing, and R&D managers. Additionally, the Associate Food Scientist will support sales in new product presentations and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Packaging, Operations, QA, and Marketing to meet project deadlines.
