About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Flying Test Bed Lab Tech to join their team in Berkeley, MO. This role supports flight test operations by maintaining, modernizing, troubleshooting, repairing/fabricating, and removing/replacing equipment and systems to minimize testing interruptions. The selected candidate will also support engineering in real-time during tests. The job involves working on aircraft systems both on the ground and in a lab, with the potential to fly on the test bed aircraft. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and work effectively in a dynamic team environment. This position requires the candidate to become a non-flight crew member of an experimental aircraft, which necessitates a medical evaluation by Boeing Medical.

Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • This position requires the ability to obtain program access for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
  • 1+ years of experience planning and conducting system level lab, ground, or flight testing
  • 1+ years of experience wire harness design, wire harness installation or equipment installation
  • 1+ years of experience have developing, troubleshooting procedures, diagnosing equipment for technical issues
  • Willing to work travel domestically up to 10% of the time

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Responsibilities

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, and components
  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of harnesses, components, test fixtures and test systems
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and posttest tear-down
  • Assists the team in ensuring that the test equipment is functional and properly configured for the scheduled test activities
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
  • Supports occasional Saturday and extended shift as necessary to complete the mission
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic test-related problems
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
  • Supports occasional (<10%) travel with test aircraft
  • Reads and interpret engineering drawings
  • Works under general supervision
