About The Position

This role involves participating in the design, implementation, and testing of firmware/software systems. The Firmware Engineer will understand hardware and software interactions, collaborate with Hardware Engineers, and contribute to the development of designs and test documentation. The position also requires developing knowledge of SEL engineering processes, products, and technology, while adhering to SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Knowledge in embedded systems firmware development including: C++ and assembly languages, Real-time firmware design
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Other programming languages, including: C, Python, other scripting languages
  • Experience with debuggers
  • Industrial controls
