Associate - Financial Restructuring, New York
About The Position
Houlihan Lokey is a leading global investment bank providing strategic and financial advice. The Financial Restructuring group is the largest worldwide and advises on a significant number of restructuring transactions. An Associate in this group will work on diverse transactions including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A. This role offers exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and industries, such as debt and equity financings, distressed M&A advisory, and special situation principal investing. Associates are integral members of deal teams, working closely with managing directors, vice presidents, and financial analysts.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance
- An undergraduate degree, including an exemplary academic record, from an accredited institution
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in similar roles within investment banking
- Strong analytical/technical and qualitative abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple project deliverables simultaneously
- Extensive operational financial modeling and valuation experience
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
- Very strong work ethic and careful attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Advising companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings
- Raising debt and equity financing
- Providing distressed M&A advisory services
- Advising in special situations with elements of distressed investing
- Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of our clients
