About The Position

Mattamy Homes Canada is seeking enthusiastic individuals for their Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) designed for new graduates. This 30-month program offers a unique opportunity to accelerate career development, business knowledge, and leadership skills through rigorous placements within finance teams, while simultaneously working towards obtaining a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation. The program is structured with two 15-month rotations, focusing on areas such as Financial Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis or Operations Finance. Associates will gain technical aptitude in consolidation, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting. They will also collaborate on cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement projects, honing their leadership skills and business insight. The program aims to prepare future leaders in finance and accounting, and Mattamy is an accredited employer with CPA Ontario, meeting the practical work experience requirements for the CPA designation. Support for the CPA exam (CFE) is provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (expected graduation by June 2026) in Business or Accounting required.
  • Proven academic success (3.0 GPA minimum).
  • Must be in pursuit of their CPA designation and plan to write (or have written) the CFE.
  • Must have completed pre-requisite courses for CPA PEP registration by FLDP program start date.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • The desire to work in a team environment and take a proactive leadership role.
  • The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking.
  • Proven strength in analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial information with a high degree of accuracy and on a timely basis.
  • Support and participate in driving finance initiatives.
  • Gain technical aptitude in consolidation, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement various projects.
  • Develop and demonstrate competence on complex cross-functional projects.
  • Develop business knowledge and insight into process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day business support within placements.
