The role involves teaching and non-teaching assignments, demonstrating effective performance, currency and depth of knowledge in the discipline, and patience, fairness, and promptness in evaluating student work. The position requires sensitivity to diverse learning styles and individual student needs, effective communication and organizational skills, and sound judgment in following college policy. For teaching assignments, effective pedagogical approaches are encouraged. For non-teaching assignments, responsibilities include communication, coordination, quality of work, and potentially program development, budget planning, program leadership, and collegial governance. The role also ensures curriculum and materials are current and appropriate, incorporating communication skills, computational skills, critical thinking, and cultural diversity. Adherence to state and federal regulations is required. Additional responsibilities may include peer mentoring, meeting contractual obligations, fulfilling division/department obligations, participating in professional growth activities, and providing leadership. The faculty member will work with colleagues to support student success and implement the college philosophy and mission, participating in program review and accreditation.
