About The Position

The Associate Faculty - Nursing Lab is responsible for providing an invaluable service to the College and our students by providing instruction of nursing students in the skills lab and simulation lab and related courses for majors and non-majors district-wide. Instruction is provided via a variety of media, including face-to-face courses, blended learning, and online throughout Cochise County and our entire services area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by an institutional accrediting body of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
• Arizona Registered Nursing Licensure
• Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification
• Two years of experience as a professional Registered Nurse
• Arizona DPS Fingerprint clearance card for clinical access
• Successful completion of Cochise College’s Medical History and Physical

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
• Teaching experience in clinical and/or nursing simulation and skills laboratory recommended

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environment
• Develops, prepares and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses and plans for the students’ educational and social needs
• Collaborates with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvement
• Maintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department
• Resolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College official
• Performs other related duties as assigned
