About The Position

Post University is seeking experienced, engaging, and student-focused Associate Faculty to teach online courses within our First-Year Experience (FYE) program. These courses are designed to support new students in building foundational skills for academic success, personal development, and career exploration. FYE courses emphasize promoting the exchange of knowledge through discussion, reflection, and collaboration; expanding students’ thinking about themselves, their goals, and their future careers; refining practical, academic, and professional skills essential for college and the workforce; providing personalized guidance and consistent encouragement; and cultivating belonging, motivation, and engagement within the university community. Associate Faculty serve as educators, mentors, and motivators, helping students connect coursework to real-world applications and career pathways while reinforcing that they are capable, valued members of the Post University community. Faculty are expected to provide active facilitation, timely feedback, proactive outreach, and individualized support for first-year and first-generation students. The First-Year Program is building a pool of Associate Faculty to teach courses such as: FYE110 The Empowered Learner: Habits for Success, FYE120 Effective Communication Skills, FYE130 TechTools & Digital Citizenship, and FYE130 College Writing: Finding Your Voice.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, Education, Communication, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of online teaching experience (Blackboard LMS preferred)
  • Experience working with first-generation, adult, or non-traditional students
  • Strong online facilitation and engagement skills
  • Ability to build rapport and motivate first-year learners
  • Commitment to supporting the development of socially responsible, career-ready learners
  • Effective communication and feedback practices
  • Comfort with multimedia and interactive teaching approaches

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching First Year Experience (FYE) or student success courses
  • Background in coaching, advising, mentoring, or student development
  • Familiarity with evidence-based student success practices

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging, discussion-driven online learning experiences that promote participation, reflection, and growth
  • Provide personalized guidance and timely feedback that supports academic progress and career connections
  • Proactively monitor student progress and conduct outreach to at-risk students
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment

  • Support students’ development of academic, personal, and professional skills
  • Collaborate with the academic and student support team to support holistic support for students
