About The Position

An Associate Faculty member is a part-time employee hired to teach specific course(s) during an academic session or term on a part-time basis. As an instructor, the Associate Faculty member's primary duty is to convey the course material so that students can attain the course's instructional outcomes. The Associate Faculty member's minimum obligation to the University is to fulfill the requirements specified for each course and comply with the University's procedures and regulations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant instruction/training experience related to criminal justice
• Must have professional working experience in Criminal Justice or related field

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Class Instruction: Teach the assigned class in accordance with learning outcomes and syllabi specified by the Assistant/Program Chair and Post University.
• Classroom Management: Adhere to all Post University policies and guidelines regarding course conduct and academic expectations for engagement. Work closely with the Assistant/Program Chair and Student Advising to address areas of concern.
• Evaluate Student Performance: Administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. Post interim course grades on the Blackboard Grade Center and final course grades in the University’s system, WebReg.
• Adhere to Course Guidelines: Participate in discussion boards, class discussions, and chat sessions as determined by the course. Fully engage students and maintain a high-touch effort with students.
• Respond Promptly to Grade Determination: Submit grades for assignments, discussion board exercises, and exams, and course completion according to established requirements.
• Input Final Grades in WebReg and into the Blackboard Grade Center (if applicable).
• Participate and coordinate end of class “close the loop” meetings with APM as required.
