For teaching assignments, faculty should use challenging and appropriate teaching methods while encouraging diverse pedagogical approaches. For non-teaching assignments, responsibilities include effective communication, quality of work, and potentially program development, budget planning, program leadership, and collegial governance. The role also requires ensuring curriculum, course outlines, and written materials are current and appropriate, incorporating communication, computational, critical thinking, and cultural diversity skills. Adherence to state and federal regulations is necessary. Additional responsibilities may include peer mentoring, meeting contractual obligations like advising and maintaining office hours, fulfilling division/department obligations, participating in professional growth activities, and providing leadership through professional involvement and collegial governance.
