About The Position

Syner-G is seeking a Facilities Engineer with 2–6 years of experience supporting building and plant operations within laboratory, manufacturing, and utility environments. This role is responsible for day-to-day oversight, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility systems and equipment, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The Facilities Engineer will conduct routine inspections, maintain accurate documentation, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support ongoing operations. Experience in GMP environments and regulatory compliance is important.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
  • 2–6 years of Facilities Engineering experience, or experience as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Subcontractor.
  • Experience with facility systems, utilities, and process equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of building systems, utilities, and equipment operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, PPE requirements, and emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • CAPEX project exposure preferred.
  • GMP cleanroom experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee external service providers performing Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities under facility, system, or equipment contracts.
  • Ensure all CM and PM tasks are completed, documented, and compliant with internal policies, procedures, and GMP requirements.
  • Perform routine inspections of facility utilities, equipment, and systems to identify early signs of wear, leaks, or abnormalities.
  • Support verification, updates, and maintenance of P&IDs, HVAC documentation, electrical one-lines, and process flow diagrams.
  • Monitor freezers and other critical equipment to ensure proper operation and alarm response readiness.
  • Perform, coordinate, and oversee emergency troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, utility, and lab/manufacturing equipment (GxP and non-GxP).
  • Respond promptly to alarms, equipment failures, and power outages, following established emergency procedures.
  • Diagnose system issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, PM activities, repairs, and system performance in accordance with SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Support audit readiness by ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and compliant with regulatory expectations.
  • Manage environmental waste streams in accordance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and other departments to address facility needs and support operational continuity.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Manufacturing team to ensure facility-related issues are addressed promptly.
  • Replace solvent recyclers and support lab processes as needed.
  • Provide detailed shift turnover reports to ensure seamless communication between teams.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and operate with minimal oversight.
