About The Position

The Associate Materials Developer, Fabric supports the fabric development process by assisting in the execution of seasonal and core fabric developments that meet Canada Goose’s aesthetic, performance and quality expectations across all product categories. Working closely with the Materials Manager, Fabric, and cross-functional partners including Design, Product Development and Raw Materials Quality, this role supports fabric development activities through submission coordination, data management and a clear handoff to PIC, who own testing and commercialization.

Requirements

  • Degree in Textiles, Textile Engineering, Material Science or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in fabric or materials development, preferably within the outdoor or performance apparel industry
  • Understanding of fabric construction, textile manufacturing processes and development timelines
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously
  • Highly organized and process-driven, with the ability to work within seasonal calendars
  • Clear communicator with strong collaboration skills across functions and regions
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions-oriented approach
  • Experience working with suppliers outside of North America
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office and PLM systems

  • Illustrator experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support seasonal and carry-over fabric developments across all product categories
  • Assist in coordinating fabric development submissions, including strike-offs, sample yardage and development yardage
  • Track fabric development progress, revisions and approvals in PLM, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate with global fabric suppliers on development timelines, submissions and feedback
  • Partner with Design and Product Development to review fabric aesthetics, handfeel, construction and suitability for end use
  • Prepare and execute the handoff of developed fabrics to PIC for testing and commercialization ownership
  • Maintain seasonal fabric records and fabric libraries, both physical and digital
  • Provide regular development status updates to internal cross-functional partners
  • Support cost visibility during development and flag risks or changes to the Materials Manager
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of fabric submissions and development materials
  • Support product set-up and ongoing data maintenance in PLM and ERP systems
