About The Position

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is looking to hire an Associate in its Center for Ethics and Professionalism department. ACP, a national organization of internal medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with 163,000 members worldwide. This is a hybrid position with 2 days per week in either the Philadelphia or Washington, DC office required.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in a clinical or bioethics discipline is required
At least five years of related experience
Proven ability to research, analyze, compile, and present complex information for a variety of audiences
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with College staff, leadership, members, government agencies, medical societies, and other stakeholders

Nice To Haves

A Master’s degree or PhD is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the development of ACP ethics, professionalism, and human rights position papers and case studies, including research, analysis, and writing
Serving as staff liaison to the Ethics, Professionalism, and Human Rights Committee, including meeting preparation and logistical support, and management of committee work and projects
Overseeing the review and coordination of ACP Board of Governors and American Medical Association House of Delegates resolutions based on College ethics policy, including assigned committee follow-up
Developing a strategy and associated content for ethics, professionalism, and human rights educational programming to be disseminated to physicians, trainees, and students
Preparing summaries of current developments on ethics, professionalism, and human rights issues for targeted ACP audiences
