About The Position

This role involves overseeing the secondary market trading of over 450 BlackRock-issued ETFs across various asset classes. The primary focus is on evaluating liquidity, spreads, volumes, execution quality, and premium/discount behavior to ensure efficient ETF trading and maintain market integrity. The position also requires identifying, assessing, and modeling potential trading-related risk scenarios, such as abnormal premium/discount behavior, market dislocations, liquidity stress, and structural inefficiencies, utilizing both historical and real-time market data. A key aspect of the role is conducting independent quantitative and historical data analysis to detect anomalies, trends, and emerging risks, and to determine when market behavior warrants escalation or further investigation. The Associate will apply quantitative analysis to influence business decisions concerning ETF trading oversight, product governance, and risk management. Furthermore, the role involves communicating analytical findings, risk assessments, and market insights to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including trading, product, risk, and business leadership. This position leads the data and analytics pillar within the U.S. ETF Markets team, responsible for defining analytical priorities, frameworks, and innovation initiatives. It also involves leading the application of advanced analytics and AI-based tools to enhance market surveillance, anomaly detection, and risk identification across ETF trading activities. Collaboration with market structure leaders and internal stakeholders is crucial for evaluating exchange, regulatory, and trading-venue dynamics, and for developing and advocating for initiatives that promote a more investor-friendly, efficient, and lower-friction ETF trading ecosystem. The role requires exercising independent professional judgment in assessing ETF trading risks, determining the materiality of market events, and shaping analytical recommendations related to trading behavior and market quality.
