About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Engineering Technical Specialist to join their Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team in Seattle, WA. This role involves developing innovative solutions within established guidelines in the Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) Infrastructure Organization. The specialist will apply knowledge to proactively monitor and maintain authoritative data across Boeing applications like Common Metrology Information System (CMIS) or Strategic Inventory Management Online (SIMON). Responsibilities include identifying and correcting outdated or inconsistent records, evaluating the impact of changes, and updating information to meet application standards. The role also involves system administration, data evaluation for troubleshooting, completeness, and accuracy checks, as well as collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data to summarize findings and develop conclusions and recommendations. Standardizing data mining for commonly used data through queries and providing results to end users, along with generating reports for leadership for case studies, are also key functions. The specialist will document requirements for technical teams, create user-friendly tip sheets and guides, and validate system enhancements through testing to ensure changes are ready, reliable, and valuable to end users.

Requirements

  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel to process tabular data
  • Ability to document training instructions and user guides

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with Common Metrology Information System (CMIS), or Strategic Inventory Management Online (SIMON)
  • Familiarity with data architecture, and data warehouse concepts
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and delivering projects on schedule
  • Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry

Responsibilities

  • Provides configuration management, coordinates changes, performs assessments of compliance and manages the implementation of product standards across company business units and programs
  • Performs data mining and evaluation to various criteria and provides summary of results for the end users
  • Standardize data mining for commonly used data using queries and providing results to end users
  • Develops, documents, implements, provides consultation on the application of, and ensures compliance with, requirements for use of engineering tools, processes and standards
  • Provides training and assistance in the utilization of processes and tools and supports the integration of engineering designs
  • Ensures regulatory requirements are met
  • Identifies and validates user access roles, produces tip sheets and understands system interoperability
  • Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Develops, maintains and distributes engineering documents, reports and correspondence to enable business activity
  • Collects, analyzes and validates engineering performance metrics and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs
