About The Position

The purpose of this role is to maximize the impact of celebrations, events, and recognition events within Technology to ensure that Scotia is seen as a vibrant, fun, and exciting place to work. The role involves acting as an internal content creator for various CIOs, working closely with the Manager, Engineering Culture Communication and Coordination to ensure a constant stream of engaging content that drives engagement and esprit de corps. This content needs to be placed on the correct platform at the correct time, and may require liaison with the internal Comms Team to ensure compliance with policies and processes. The role also involves identifying significant milestone events, planning and executing celebratory events, and publicizing them. Ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures is also a key aspect. Additionally, the role requires ideating and designing internal events to drive morale and team spirit, liaising with nominated team members from each CIO team to ensure events align with and amplify existing CIO events. Finally, the role works with HR and CIOs to maximize publicity for the Best of the Best celebration, both internally and externally, ensuring it is integrated into the events lifecycle and tied to other celebrations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience, preferable in banking or tech.
  • Degree in any discipline from a recognized, accredited university or art school.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Good skills with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great presentation skills.
  • Must have an active social media presence.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing the impact of celebrations, events, and recognition events within Technology.
  • Acting as an internal content creator for CIOs, ensuring a constant stream of engaging content.
  • Placing content on the correct platform at the correct time and liaising with internal Comms Team.
  • Identifying significant milestone events and planning/executing celebratory events and publicity.
  • Ensuring all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Ideating and designing internal events to drive morale and team spirit.
  • Liaising with nominated team members from CIO teams to ensure event alignment and amplification.
  • Working with HR and CIOs to maximize publicity for the Best of the Best celebration.
  • Hands-on scripting, filming, editing, and post-production of short-form video content for internal and external social media.
  • Event planning and execution, including organizing food, drinks, entertainment, and potentially venues for multiple functions.
  • Occasional photography at events, including post-processing, editing, and distribution.
  • Acting as a backup for the Manager, Engineering Culture Messaging and Coordination.
  • Ensuring all communications have passed a "four eyes" review and are error-free.
  • Working with HR, HR Tech, and CIOs to improve pickup on the internal points based Rewards system and the Best of the Best process.
  • Understanding the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
