About The Position

Skoda Contracting is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our construction engineering department. This role will be based in Flanders/Fords, NJ, and will involve supporting construction projects through various engineering and administrative tasks. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate is dependable, reliable, and capable of working independently. This is an onsite position with a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Requirements

Strong math skills and attention for detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience a plus, but not required).
Degree in Civil engineering or Construction Management preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct site visits during construction, keeping accurate measurements, field notes, and sketches.
Prepare main as-built drawings in AutoCAD, along with service records.
Complete internal Skoda documentation for recordkeeping, billing, and cost tracking.
Perform data entry in client databases (e.g., Maximo).
Review ETG construction documents for cost estimating and participate in takeoff meetings prior to project start.
Assist with maintaining crew schedules.
Operate GPS devices to support pipeline installation tracking.
Verify on-site records to prevent damage to existing utilities prior to construction.
Conduct pre-construction site visits and prepare looker reports outlining personnel and equipment needs.
Perform other duties as required to support project completion.
