The Associate Engineer is responsible for providing engineering input to the assigned product development projects. This includes interfacing with a cross-functional team consisting of engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing. The role involves preparing and maintaining design drawings, schematics, specifications, kits, BOMs, and/or instructions for field kits using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software in accordance with applicable Generac and industry standards. The Associate Engineer will work closely with design originators to resolve design details or discrepancies, or to prepare drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs and complex full assemblies requiring high precision using CAD or CAE equipment. They will identify solutions and opportunities, create, modify, and control detailed and complex documentation from sketches, plans, and instructions. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining departmental standards and procedures, regular vendor contact, and mentoring less experienced Designers and entry-level Engineers.
