Associate Engineer – Substation and Power Generation

On Olsson’s Substation & Power Generation team, you’ll help design systems that safely and reliably deliver power to communities. Our work strengthens mission critical infrastructure and supports a more sustainable energy future through renewable energy innovation. As an Associate Engineer, you’ll support substation design projects, working with experienced engineers to develop your technical skills and contribute to high-quality project deliverables.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well with a team
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of one year of engineering experience
Nice To Haves
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification, preferred.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation preferred
- Strong interest in substation design and high-voltage electrical infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Assist with design, modeling, and analysis of substation projects
- Support senior engineers with drawings, calculations, and studies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in site visits and construction support
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
- Grow through hands-on learning, mentorship, and training
