About The Position

Otto Aerospace is seeking a dynamic engineer to support the design, development, and integration of Mechanical Systems, including Interior Furnishings & Equipment. You will join a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Requirements

B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Systems design

Nice To Haves

Experience with fabrication, assembly, and installation methods of mechanical components
Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T
Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process
Experience in composite and metallic rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) for both experimental and production applications
Experience utilizing CATIA V5, V6, or 3dx

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, to include the following: Mechanical Systems (Flight Controls (ATA 27), Landing Gear (ATA 32), Ice Protection (ATA 30)), Furnishings & Equipment (ATA 25) (Cabin Interior Furnishings & Equipment, Cockpit Interior Furnishings).
Conduct trade studies for optimized form, fit, and function of mechanical systems to include detailed system layouts and airframe integration in CATIA 3DExperience (3DX).
Support generation of Interface Control Documentation (3D and 2D models).
Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews, incorporating structural, thermal, environmental and ergonomic requirements.
Collaborate with industrial design, stress, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate interfaces with adjacent systems and structures.
Create both experimental and production digital product definition for components, assemblies, and installations, to include dimensions, materials, and processes necessary to fully define the configuration.
Produce bill of materials and assist in manufacturing assembly instructions.
