Associate Engineer/Engineer - Transmission Line Design

Dominion Energy•GLEN ALLEN, VA
•$73,200 - $106,400•Hybrid

About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking to fill two positions at the Associate Engineer or Engineer level, commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education. The Associate Engineer role is an entry or developmental level position providing engineering support in a designated company area or specific engineering discipline. This role involves performing engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design. Under the direction of a supervisor or work leader, the Associate Engineer performs routine assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge, gain familiarity with techniques, approaches, practices, and the nature of engineering systems and equipment, and to develop the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles and techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. The Engineer role is a fully competent, second-level position in the engineering series, providing engineering support in a designated company area or specific engineering discipline. This role involves performing and/or reviewing engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design. The Engineer also provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendations based on calculations (e.g., cost for equipment upgrade) for management review. This role is distinguished from the Associate Engineer by the increased complexity in the application of engineering skills required. Under the direction of a supervisor or work leader, the Engineer exercises independence in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard or well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. They use independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables. The company offers a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking).
