The Associate Field Engineer is an entry level position for degreed Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineers entering the Engineering Development Program (EDP). Individuals participating in the Engineering Development Program will undergo a comprehensive petro-technical and field-based training experience. This development program is designed to provide strong foundations of petro-technical principles while gaining hands-on experience with field rotations through Drilling, Completion, Production, Facilities, and Resource Development. Each field rotation is designed for approximately six (6) month durations to foster technical and professional growth. The Engineering Development Program provides experienced mentors to each engineer, on-the-job training, classroom technical training, and task-based learning. This unique engineering opportunity will enable individuals to build strong technical skills at a pace that maximizes their potential to drive value across Continental Resources. The Associate Field Engineer will develop the knowledge of basic engineering principles in each facet of operations located within one of the four basins in which Continental operates. This individual is expected to develop the understanding of various engineering fundamentals and subsurface concepts to begin performing routine tasks for each field rotation of operation with immediate or close supervision. Engineers progressing through the Engineering Development Program will learn how to solve routine problems with direct guidance while gaining exposure to more complex problems or task-based projects. Upon completion of the program, the individual will understand critical engineering fundamentals for the entire well life cycle and be prepared to advance to an engineering role within one of the designated multidisciplinary asset teams that aligns with Continental’s activity, growth, and business goals.
