About The Position

The New Verticals Business Development team is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for establishing, managing and scaling new lines of business at DoorDash in the retail and logistics space. As an Associate of Emerging Retail Partnerships, you will support the day-to-day management of our merchant partners and help them grow with DoorDash. This role offers the opportunity to get in at the ground floor of one of DoorDash's fastest-growing new bets, focused on parcel logistics, and to operate at a startup pace with the backing of an established public company. You will report to the Associate Manager of Emerging Retail Partnerships within our Merchant Business Development organization and work closely with account leads and teams across the company.

Requirements

  • You build trusted relationships with merchant and customer contacts, and you're the person they turn to to get things done.
  • You know your way around commercial terms and can prepare and drive deals with sharp data and analysis.
  • You rally teams across operations, finance, product and beyond to solve problems and move projects forward.
  • You turn performance data and merchant feedback into account plans and growth recommendations you can defend.
  • You show initiative and resilience when priorities shift or the path forward is unclear, and you have good judgment about when to make the call and when to escalate.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, with strong attention to detail and timely follow-through.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in the retail, logistics or parcel industry.
  • Fast-paced or startup experience, including working on a fast-growing product that is still taking shape.

Responsibilities

  • Own relationships with leading enterprise retailers and ecommerce logistics providers.
  • Be the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of strategic partners, build a deep understanding of their business goals and challenges, and develop creative solutions that drive step-change growth for DoorDash.
  • Lead the conversation. Run merchant calls and business reviews, own the follow-up, and build the presentations and materials that tell the story of the account.
  • Turn insights into growth. Resolve issues using established processes and internal resources, raise concerns early with the facts and a suggested next step, and use playbooks and merchant data to flag negative trends and spot growth opportunities.
  • Flex your negotiating skills. Support upsells, cross-sells, expansions, launches and renewals that create mutually beneficial outcomes for partners and DoorDash.
  • Use your product knowledge and market feedback to help shape the roadmap and go-to-market strategy for one of DoorDash's most exciting new bets, and to inform growth and revenue goals.
  • Learn fast and be seen. Work with senior stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Legal and Finance, get regular visibility with DoorDash leadership, and have room to grow your career quickly.
