This role involves preparing component drawings and specifications for highly complex electro-optical, opto-mechanical, or electro-mechanical products. The Associate Electrical Engineer will support engineering and purchasing in the procurement and selection of parts and materials, prepare submittals for nonstandard parts and materials, and interface with internal and external labs to interpret test results and define testing procedures to ensure parts meet requirements. Key responsibilities include effectively communicating technical issues and work status to program engineers, management, and customers, presenting analysis results, and acting as a technical consultant. The role also involves performing technical reviews of material/component quality documentation, including supplier data and test results, to ensure conformance to requirements, and following established procedures and guidance from senior staff.
