About The Position

The Associate Director of Gift Planning (ADGP) is a Territorial-recognized Gift Planning position supporting Directors of Gift Planning (DGPs) across the Division. The position helps DGPs achieve their annual Gift Activity goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding individual donors and targeting deferred gifts. The ADGP participates in implementing each DGP’s Forecast and Marketing Plan (FMP). The role is based remotely, with Las Vegas, Nevada preferred, or in Metro Phoenix, Arizona, or Albuquerque, New Mexico, and includes travel for donor visits, meetings, and training. At the direction of the Senior Director of Gift Planning, the ADGP supports gift planning activities through management, marketing, metrics, and training. The position does not have gift production goals. It works with donors and Salvation Army colleagues to establish life-income plans and deferred gift commitments, maintain donor relationships and records, coordinate marketing activities, and take part in required training. The Salvation Army describes its mission as preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting human needs in His name without discrimination. The position offers an opportunity to work with a team of charitable estate planning professionals and encourages professional development, including the opportunity to earn the Distinguished Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning designation.
