Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in consulting, strategy, operations, transformation, business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in private-sector industries such as manufacturing, real estate, construction, energy, utilities, technology, transportation, retail, or professional services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop clear, practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare client-ready materials and summarize complex information clearly.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and develop insights that support decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while taking ownership of individual workstreams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, intellectual curiosity, and comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Professional, adaptable, and client-service oriented.
  • Related university degree in business, commerce, economics, engineering, technology, operations, or another relevant field.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MPA or MPP), PMP, CPA, or additional professional (e.g., CPA, P.Eng., or R.N) or other designation (e.g., CPA, PMP, Lean, or PROSCI).

Responsibilities

  • Support client engagements across diversified industries, including real estate, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, oil and gas, construction, wholesale and retail trade, professional, scientific and technical services, transportation and warehousing, information and technology, and power and utilities.
  • Conduct research, analysis, benchmarking, and synthesis to support strategy, operating model, transformation, process improvement, and project management engagements.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, insights, risks, and opportunities for clients.
  • Support the development of client deliverables, including presentations, reports, executive summaries, process maps, current-state assessments, future-state recommendations, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and working sessions, capturing key themes, documenting outcomes, and supporting follow-up activities.
  • Assist with project coordination activities, including workplan tracking, meeting preparation, status reporting, issue/risk logs, and action item management.
  • Contribute to business development activities by supporting market scans, proposal development, client research, and the creation of practice-building materials.
  • Bring curiosity and a private-sector lens to emerging client challenges across industries that are currently underrepresented in the Optimus SBR portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to deliver practical, high-quality solutions that help clients move from strategy to execution.
  • Contribute to the life and culture of Optimus SBR.
