Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to work in either their Framingham, MA office or the New Hampshire area. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in NESC expertise, structural pole modeling, electrical power calculations, GIS design, and interactions with other disciplines such as Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil Structural. The position involves developing construction work packages for electric distribution systems (overhead, underground, or underground residential distribution) using various software and construction standards. Project work may include new business and reliability designs. The successful candidate will utilize software like Bentley Open Utilities Design, CAD, GIS, and WMS. Engineering calculations will include structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices. Additional tasks may involve preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, developing Bills of Materials (BOM), estimating costs, and customer advocacy such as acquiring easements. Field investigations will require travel by motor vehicle to various project locations.
