The Associate Director of Parking Services and Strategy (AD Parking) is responsible for optimizing the use of the University’s limited and shrinking parking resources. This position reports to the Director of Transportation and Parking (Director of T&P) and serves as a key strategist for a University-wide operation that generates nearly $28 million per year. The position’s scope includes parking services for faculty, staff, and students, hundreds of thousands of healthcare patients and visitors, and more than 4 million visitors who attend athletic events, arts programs, and other campus events each year. The position is responsible for collaboratively resolving competing stakeholder needs and priorities to best serve the University. The AD is responsible for the allocation process that determines parking availability for department units including UNC Hospitals. This position is a peer to the Associate Director of Transportation and Planning and works with the Director of T&P to meet the goals and constraints of the University’s Master Plan and Development Plan pertaining to deck construction and parking. The position directs the work of a staff responsible for traffic management and parking on campus including efficient ingress and egress, permitting, cash/account management and enforcement. The AD Parking meets regularly with stakeholders and participates in a variety of campus-wide committees and task forces.
