About The Position

IQVIA Inc. is seeking an Associate Director in Wayne, PA for a hybrid role. This position requires managing multiple teams of professional-level employees to ensure consistent design, deployment, and maintenance processes for DaaS and Scion offerings, products, and systems in both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS). The role involves developing and communicating objectives and priorities to meet organizational goals related to data platform modernization, secure cloud integration, and scalable analytics delivery. The Associate Director will influence decision-making regarding architecture design, deployment strategy, and production readiness by providing technical leadership, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and presenting solution roadmaps to management. Additionally, the role includes providing coaching and technical guidance, reviewing team members’ tasks, and modeling leadership examples for the organization. IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights, and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries, focused on accelerating the development and commercialization of innovative medical treatments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or foreign equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of progressive software development and cloud engineering experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience designing and developing applications in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Five (5) years of experience utilizing public cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
  • Five (5) years of experience building microservices and applications using Java and Python.
  • Five (5) years of experience with front-end development using Node.js or Angular.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks and Redshift.
  • Five (5) years of experience utilizing Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Five (5) years of experience migrating applications and dashboards to new environments while identifying opportunities to leverage enhanced features and technologies.
  • Five (5) years of experience leading small development teams (3–6 developers) in delivery and mentorship of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple teams of professional-level employees to ensure that a consistent design, deployment, and maintenance process is followed for DaaS and Scion offerings, products, and systems in both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS).
  • Develop and communicate objectives and priorities to meet the organization's plan and results requirements relating to data platform modernization, secure cloud integration, and scalable analytics delivery.
  • Influence decision-making regarding architecture design, deployment strategy, and production readiness by providing technical leadership, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and presenting solution roadmaps to the management.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance on job performance to the team.
  • Review and oversee team members’ tasks to ensure the project solution and architecture meets client needs.
  • Model and provide leadership examples for the organization.
