About The Position

Provides general assistance in implementing an instructional program that is attentive to individual students' academic, social and emotional needs. (12-month position). This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

Requirements

Administration and Management - Thorough knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Psychology - Working knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

Responsibilities

Responds to parent contacts regarding instructional concerns; refers parents to the teacher, guidance counselor, a team leader, or curriculum coordinator, if appropriate. Handles student discipline referrals and parent concerns as determined by the Director.
Assigns coverage for absent teachers and aides.
Oversees the supervision and monitoring of student academic and social progress, in assigned grades as determined by the Director. Ensures that individual student needs are identified and implementations provided in a developmentally appropriate manner, inclusive of teacher performance.
Administers and/or supervises logistics and students in extracurricular programs, including, but not limited to Extended Day Care Program, Cultural Arts, Activity Fee, Good Citizens.
Works with administration to develop the master Middle School calendar and help plan/supervise special events such as registration, photo sessions, parenting meetings, extracurricular events and organizations, etc.
Supervises and coordinates the development and articulation of assigned grades curriculums and teacher and aide implementation of said.
Assists the Director in the monitoring of teacher and Team Leader responsibilities, including: material and supply orders, computer software and hardware needs, textbook orders, curriculum revision, technology needs, and meeting agendas.
Coordinates and assists faculty in the development of classroom issues by providing resource services, MAT diagnoses, recommending instructional strategies, for special discipline needs as related to classroom, bus, playground, field trips, etc.
Functions as a representative and liaison with parent organizations including UFO, Scouts, etc.
Participates in interviews with prospective faculty members.
Provides administrative support at school functions, in coordination with other administrative staff through attendance and by assuming administrative responsibilities.
Assists the Director in the implementation and monitoring/tracking of all Vertical Integration efforts with all sites.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
