About The Position

Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years of experience in a financial management position.
  • Proven experience in billing, coverage analysis, and financial compliance in clinical trials.
  • Familiarity with Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) and third-party payer requirements.
  • Flexible and detail oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage diverse and complex responsibilities in time critical situations; pleasant personality and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent reasoning, ability to read, hear and comprehend extensive technical and regulatory information and convey key information to others.
  • Experience in research compliance, knowledge of research regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong familiarity with human subjects research and clinical trials.
  • Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field plus four years of related administrative and technical experience OR Combination of education and/or years of experience in the area of specialization or closely related field to equal a minimum of 8 years.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive budgets for clinical trials, ensuring accurate forecasting and allocation of resources.
  • Monitor and report expenditures, revenues, and financial performance for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the billing process for clinical trials ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to sponsors and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement improvements to billing process to ensure compliance with billing policies and procedures including Medicare Coverage Analysis requirements.
  • Conduct and document throughout coverage analysis for clinical trials for the site ensuring up to date knowledge of regulatory updates and industry standards are adhered to.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with investigators and research teams to support the financial aspects of clinical trials.
  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSCEP OPs, etc.).
