About The Position

UBS Business Solutions US LLC is seeking an Associate Director, Valuation Controller in Weehawken, NJ. This role is for an innovative thinker who is focused on details, even under pressure, and enjoys delivering enhanced change capabilities across a range of business functions. The Associate Director will be responsible for the Independent Price Verification (IPV) of securitized products, analysis of cash flow triggers, market trends, and other technical factors in valuation. They will utilize securitization market data sources for cash flow analysis and pricing, and work on automation for IPV. The role involves reporting, analyzing key drivers of IPVs and reserves, and writing commentaries for exotic and regional reserve movements. The position also includes running IPV processes for the Asian region, downloading and accumulating option prices, providing detailed data for traders on exotic IPV drivers, and providing adjustment details. The Associate Director will calculate and review IPV, model adjustments, and liquidity adjustments for Equity Derivative and Securitization products, measure valuation uncertainty using multiple data sources, and ensure appropriate valuation adjustments are calculated. Development and running of automation tools utilizing Python is also a key responsibility, along with providing valuation reports and updates to various stakeholders. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (In-office/remote).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance (any), Economics, Accounting, or a related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Financial Quantitative Analyst, Senior Analytics Specialist, or a related occupation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance (any), Economics, Accounting, or a related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Financial Quantitative Analyst, Senior Analytics Specialist, or a related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Independent Price Verification (IPV) of securitized products such as CLOs, CMBS, RMBS and ABS.
  • Analysis of cash flow triggers, market trends and other technical factors in valuation.
  • Use of securitization market data sources such as Intex or Bloomberg for cash flow analysis and pricing.
  • Automation work for securitized products IPV.
  • Conduct reporting and analyze the largest drivers of IPV’s and reserves.
  • Write commentaries for exotics and regional reserve movements, citing largest drivers and causes.
  • Run IPV processes for the Asian region.
  • Download and accumulate option prices for large sets of underliers.
  • Provide detailed data for traders on the largest exotics IPV drivers of impacts.
  • Provide adjustment details for exotics desk.
  • Calculate and review IPV, model adjustments and liquidity adjustments for Equity Derivative and Securitization products.
  • Measure valuation uncertainty using multiple sources of data, including listed market spreads and consensus dispersion.
  • Ensure that appropriate valuation adjustments are calculated given the nature and risks of the portfolio.
  • Developing and running automation tools utilizing Python.
  • Provide valuation reports and updates to traders, business heads, senior management, quantitative and risk groups and auditors.
