About The Position

The Associate Director, Student Wellness oversees the Wellness Education and Prevention Program at University of Portland and will provide visionary leadership and strategic management of student wellness promotion. This position plays a pivotal role in developing and advancing a culture of holistic well-being across campus by implementing programming that empowers students to thrive emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. The Associate Director collaborates with internal and external partners to implement inclusive, data-driven, and evidence-informed health promotion strategies addressing key focus areas including, but not limited to, emotional well-being, alcohol and drug education, sleep, nutrition, sexual violence prevention, and general self-care. In addition to program development and implementation, this position is responsible for supervising staff, strategic planning and assessment, policy development, and budget management.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, health promotion, counseling, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health promotion, wellness programming, or a related field
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Experience in staff supervision and management
  • Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in higher education wellness
  • Strong understanding of public health principles and evidence-based health promotion strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in policy development and advocacy
  • Experience with budget management in a non-profit or higher education setting
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting for program assessment
