Canadian Blood Services is seeking a strategic, operationally minded finance leader to serve as its Associate Director, Strategic Finance Partnering. This newly created role will provide embedded finance leadership to some of the organization’s most complex, operationally critical and financially significant portfolios, including Donor Relations, Collections, Supply Chain, Digital Solutions and Technology, Medical Affairs, and Research and Innovation. At CBS, strategic finance partnering plays a central role in strengthening organizational decision-making by translating financial information into clear business insight, building financial acumen among leaders and teams, and equipping decision makers with practical tools, analysis, and advice to improve performance. The function also serves as a critical bridge between finance and operations, helping leaders better understand trade-offs, risks, opportunities, and the financial implications of strategic and operational choices. The Associate Director will also lead, coach, and develop a small team of Strategic Finance Partners supporting key portfolios across the organization, including Supply Chain, Digital Solutions and Technology, Medical Affairs, and Research and Innovation. In doing so, the Associate Director will help set priorities, strengthen consistency in business partnering practices, provide guidance on complex stakeholder issues and strategic analyses, help strengthen financial capability outside of Finance, shape the design and adoption of decision-support tools that translate financial information into business insights, and serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to executive leaders and their teams.
