About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Director, Special Projects, and working in concert with the central stewardship team of Rutgers University Foundation (RUF), the Associate Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a strategic stewardship program that will meet the unique stewardship needs of Rutgers-New Brunswick Development and will enhance the unit’s communication with and cultivation of its donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years of professional experience in fundraising, alumni relations, non-profit organizations, event planning, higher education, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a permanent stewardship pool
  • Manage the tracking of and reporting on New Brunswick (NB) strategic initiatives
  • Work with the central stewardship office to help track and report on NB endowed positions
  • Identify and secure unique gift items for the Chancellor and Foundation to present to high profile and corporate/foundation visitors and select NB Principal Gift Prospects and Major Gift donors
  • Execute a stewardship plan for the Chancellor
  • Create custom donor reports/gifts for select donors
  • Provide support for curated engagement experiences, including organizing corporate and foundation visits and select NB donor campus visits
  • Identify and track key milestones for NB donors and push those out to Directors of Development (Reunions, Lifetime Giving, etc.)
  • Organize select NB special events
  • Gather NB data for donor impact reports produced by the central stewardship office
  • Coordinate NB’s acknowledgment process with central stewardship office
  • Share best practices for scholarship awards and how to organize them
  • Serve as the liaison for the NB development team to the central stewardship office, providing content and information to ensure NB is well-represented in central stewardship and communications.
