About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Stewardship, the Associate Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a strategic stewardship program that will meet the unique stewardship needs of Rutgers-New Brunswick Development and will enhance the unit’s communication with and cultivation of its donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years of professional experience in fundraising, alumni relations, non-profit organizations, event planning, higher education, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a permanent stewardship pool
  • Manage the tracking of and reporting on New Brunswick (NB) strategic initiatives
  • Help track and report on NB endowed positions
  • Identify and secure unique gift items for the Chancellor and Foundation to present to high profile and corporate/foundation visitors and select NB Principal Gift Prospects and Major Gift donors
  • Execute a stewardship plan for the Chancellor
  • Create custom donor reports/gifts for select donors
  • Provide support for curated engagement experiences, including organizing corporate and foundation visits and select NB donor campus visits
  • Identify and track key milestones for NB donors and push those out to Directors of Development (Reunions, Lifetime Giving, etc.)
  • Organize select NB special events
  • Gather NB data for donor impact reports produced by the central stewardship office
  • Coordinate NB’s acknowledgment process
  • Share best practices for scholarship awards and how to organize them
  • Serve as the liaison for the central stewardship office to the NB development team, providing content and information to ensure NB is well-represented in central stewardship and communications.
