About The Position

AREA15 is seeking an Associate Director of Programming to lead the day-to-day execution, operations, and performance of our Programming & Membership department. This role serves as the operational right hand to the VP of Programming, translating high-level vision into flawlessly executed events, activations and experiences across our campus. This position focuses on execution, team leadership, and operational excellence, working closely with the VP of Programming to deliver the strategic vision. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategic operator and hands-on producer, with a proven ability to manage high-volume programming, lead cross-functional teams and deliver unforgettable guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • 5-8 years of experience in event programming, live entertainment, or venue operations, with at least 2–3 years in a management or leadership role
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in entertainment, hospitality, or experiential venues strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with TripleSeat, Ticketure, EventHub, Claude and other AI tools is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in sponsor acquisition and relationship management is preferred
  • Proven ability to oversee a high-volume programming calendar across multiple venues or activations simultaneously
  • Strong manager with experience directing staff, freelancers, and contractors
  • Financially fluent, comfortable owning a P&L, building budgets and tracking performance against revenue targets
  • Skilled relationship builder with experience working across internal departments and external partners
  • Calm and solutions-oriented in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management of the Programming & Membership department, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution across all team members.
  • Identify, pitch, and secure external brand partners and sponsors to support programming initiatives and offset operating costs
  • Establish and refine workflows, processes, and communication standards to support a high-volume event pipeline
  • Manage incoming event and partnership leads, qualifying and routing opportunities in partnership with the VP of Programming
  • Support the VP on strategic initiatives, special projects, and departmental growth planning
  • Oversee execution of all programming across AREA15 venues, ensuring events are delivered on time, on brand, and within budget
  • Support the development and maintenance of the master programming calendar in alignment with departmental priorities set by leadership
  • Maintain quality control across planning, client communication, and on-site execution
  • Act as the senior escalation point for programming-related issues before, during, and after events
  • Identify and develop programming opportunities that drive attendance, revenue, and community engagement in collaboration with the VP of Programming
  • Support budget development and track financial performance against departmental targets with oversight from the VP
  • Partner with leadership to identify cost efficiencies and revenue-driving opportunities, including sponsorship support
  • Oversee event-level budget tracking, reconciliation, and post-event reporting
  • Partner closely with Marketing on event promotion, key art, social content, and campaign timelines
  • Coordinate with Operations, Guest Experience, and Security teams to ensure seamless execution across the campus
  • Ensure all programming documentation, calendars, and recaps are accurate and up to date
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Drive accountability while maintaining a collaborative, creative, and fast-paced team environment
  • Respond to time sensitive matters.

  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
