About The Position

OMERS Private Equity (“OPE”) seeks to use its significant and differentiated capital base to partner with management teams of industry-leading businesses. We are direct investors with a long-term view of success, $25.6B AUM and a mandate to invest $3B each year in an evergreen fund structure. OPE is the private equity investment arm of OMERS, one of Canada’s largest pension plans with $145.2 billion of net assets under management across all of their investment classes including private equity, growth equity, venture capital, public markets, infrastructure and real estate. As an Associate Director on the Private Equity team in New York, you will be involved in identifying, evaluating, acquiring and actively managing direct, control private equity investments.

Requirements

  • Approximately 6 years of work experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and both written & verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, analysis and evaluation new investment opportunities through industry research, competitor assessments, financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Lead commercial and operational due diligence workstreams
  • Support leadership team in a strategic or operational project
  • Prepare internal investment presentations
  • Oversee work of Associates and play a role in the recruitment of Associates
  • Supports transaction and Asset Management activities
  • Lead role in monitoring performance and analysis, review quarterlies
  • Lead portfolio company key value creation plan initiatives
  • Work alongside management to research and execute tuck-in acquisitions
  • Support capital structure management, including debt refinancing, tax planning and capital budgeting
