About The Position

The Associate Director, Pricing is a high-visibility, portfolio-wide strategic role at the center of how our Canadian market access function plans, operates, and executes. Reporting to the Director, Pricing Strategy, Contracting and Negotiation, this position serves as the core connective tissue between global pricing governance, health economics, and Canadian payer realities. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of big-picture scenario modeling and practical, tactical execution. You will be a critical member of the Patient Access Team in defining, modeling, and defending optimized pricing and innovative contracting strategies across our pipeline and on-market portfolio. This role requires a deep technical understanding of the evolving PMPRB regulations, pCPA negotiation frameworks, and the financial structures of Product Listing Agreements (PLAs) with public and private payers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Health Economics, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of experience within the Canadian pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a dedicated focus on market access, strategic pricing, health policy, or financial forecasting.
  • Deep, verifiable understanding of the Canadian drug reimbursement ecosystem—specifically the interplay between Health Canada, CDA-AMC, INESSS, pCPA, and provincial/private drug formularies.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience navigating complex PMPRB reporting, compliance structures, and risk assessments.
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and data synthesis skills.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and influence without direct authority across matrixed global and affiliate environments (Commercial, Medical, Legal, and Finance).
  • Executive-ready presentation, storytelling, and writing skills.
  • Fluency in French is required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, evaluation, and execution of national pricing strategies for early-to-late-stage pipeline assets and lifecycle management of on-market products.
  • Partner closely with Global Pricing Teams and Global Commercial Teams to ensure Canadian commercial realities are integrated into global assumptions while aligning with corporate requirements and governance.
  • Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) guidelines, compliance frameworks, and evolving reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Market Access team to build and optimize national and provincial Product Listing Agreement (PLA) frameworks and innovative access models.
  • Work cross-functionally to align pricing objectives with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) value propositions
  • Provide accurate, strategic pricing assumptions and financial causality insights during crucial business planning, forecasting cycles.
  • Act as a core advisor on the local Commercial Teams, ensuring that pricing dynamics, competitive landscape updates, and market intelligence are integrated seamlessly into broader commercial strategies.
  • Work with Global teams to ensure timely approvals of pricing strategies.
