About The Position

The Associate Director, One-Time Donor Marketing leads donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth across the One-Time Donor (Annual Giving) portfolio, and reports into the Director, Segment Marketing. The role is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that strengthen donor relationships and maximize lifetime value. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the One-Time Donor Marketing portfolio, overseeing planning, execution, optimisation, budget management, and team leadership. The Associate Director works closely with cross-functional partners and external agencies to deliver integrated, donor-centric programs that support Foundation revenue goals, donor experience objectives, and organisational priorities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership of integrated, performance-driven program.
  • Experience in CRM, lifecycle, retention, fundraising, or direct response marketing.
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven success leading complex, multi-channel campaigns from strategy through optimisation.
  • Deep understanding of segmentation, personalization, donor/customer journeys, and retention strategies.
  • Experience directly leading people, coaching and developing team members.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve processes and/or work output.
  • Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools is an asset.
  • Experience in not-for-profit, healthcare, fundraising, membership, or purpose-driven organizations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the marketing strategy for Annual Giving, Product Marketing (Symbolic Giving) and Lead Generation, including acquisition, retention, stewardship, reactivation, and donor value growth.
  • Develop annual strategic plans, performance frameworks, and KPIs aligned to organisational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve donor journeys, engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Provide strategic oversight of key donor segments, including active, high-value, new, and lapsed donors.
  • Lead execution of marketing campaigns across direct mail, email, digital, social, and other channels.
  • Oversee campaign strategy, audience segmentation, briefing, creative development, execution, testing, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor portfolio and campaign performance across revenue, engagement, retention, and efficiency metrics.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture focused on improving campaign effectiveness, donor experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage portfolio and campaign budgets, including planning, forecasting, spend tracking, and reporting.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and recommend resource allocation to support revenue and engagement goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of four direct reports.
  • Set priorities, manage workload and capacity, and support professional growth through regular feedback and development.
  • Build strong relationships across Marketing, Philanthropy, Analytics, CRM, Digital, Creative, Operations, Finance, Legal, and external agency partners.
