The Associate Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) will lead a team of program managers, project managers and business analysts who plan, manage, and execute institutional programs and projects within budgets and timelines. The role also serves as an internal business consultant responsible for leading select cross-department, medium to large projects to improve business efficiencies, processes, and operating models. The EPMO works to identify and deliver improvements across the enterprise. The EPMO works closely with business and academic units to align business and academic objectives with IT strategies, and with the Office of Information Security to ensure new projects are developed and implemented to meet both KUMC and State of Kansas required information security standards. The Associate Director of EPMO is a working associate director position and actively manages projects (0.25 FTE) in addition to leading the EPMO (0.75 FTE). The focus of the EPMO is on programs and projects that support the institution. Projects include technical solutions, process improvement, new solution identification, and other projects to change/improve business functions and capabilities. Programs focus on the management or oversight of multiple related projects that map to business objective(s) that improve organizational performance related to risk, budget, organizational strategy, communication, and optimizing resources. The EPMO seeks to identify and leverage connections between business needs in different KUMC departments to maximize program and project potential and is responsible for the entire program and project life cycle.
