About The Position

Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an Associate Director, Data Center Start-up & Commissioning. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an organization comprised of professional project managers & team leaders responsible for a portfolio of start-up & commissioning projects across Data Center construction sites. In this role, you will be responsible for start-up readiness and execution at strategic customer locations in the Americas. You will also be responsible for resource allocation, governance, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This is a high impact, strategically important role dedicated to ensuring flawless execution of newly delivered product, above and beyond performance to customer SLA’s and stage-setting for long-term maintenance agreements. The ideal candidate will have both strategic and tactical capabilities, including demonstrated project management skills, field service staff hiring and leadership experience and a proven ability to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
8+ years’ experience in direct or indirect leadership roles in operations, sales, aftermarket, strategy, or general management
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time within the USA and internationally (Canada) as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of professional project managers dedicated to the start-up, commissioning and field modification of Carrier products for the Data Center vertical.
Develop a readiness assessment for the start-up & commissioning team, ensuring deployment of project managers and technician resources for start-up & commissioning projects.
Work closely with data center customers, contractors, sub-contractors and commissioning agents ensuring that all requirements are met.
Lead the creation of a full lifecycle project plan for each customer site.
Execute to the project plan, ensuring on time delivery, within scope, and within budget.
Systemically track and measure planned and actual start-up & commissioning activities.
Ensure flawless on-time execution of start-up and commissioning at customer locations.
Meet customer performance expectations, resolving issues and escalating to senior leadership when appropriate.
Function as single point of contact for start-up & commissioning.
Ensure effective turn-over to field service National Team and customer program office.
Continuously improve both business and operational processes, driving value chain productivity.
Meet or exceed customer expectations.
