Our Network Office for Academic Excellence and School Excellence teams is located at 425 Westchester Ave., Bronx, NY 10455. In this role, you can expect to work in person most days, including Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as other days of the week when your work requires it. Depending on the role, team members may have optional remote days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday, as permitted, along with remote flexibility during academic calendar breaks when school is not in session. To achieve our vision, we are searching for a results-driven Associate Director of Professional Learning with a Bachelor’s degree and a proven track record of effective leadership as a current or former Principal, or a highly successful Assistant Principal with experience developing leaders and building strong systems that improve school outcomes. As an Associate Director of Professional Learning at Zeta, you will support our team in ensuring that professional learning is not experienced as a series of disconnected training sessions, but as a cohesive leadership development journey that builds the knowledge, skills, and mindsets required to lead exceptional schools. The ideal candidate has a strong instructional background and and excels at designing and facilitating year-long professional learning experiences that are intentionally sequenced, reinforce one another, and drive sustained growth in leader practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven track record of effective leadership as a current or former Principal, or a highly successful Assistant Principal with experience developing leaders and building strong systems that improve school outcomes.
  • Strong instructional background
  • Excels at designing and facilitating year-long professional learning experiences that are intentionally sequenced, reinforce one another, and drive sustained growth in leader practice.
  • Work authorization is required (candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.).

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and continuous improvement of Zeta's professional learning curriculum.
  • Create effective professional learning experiences for adults to ensure that every student at Zeta is able to achieve excellent learning outcomes.
  • Design and continuously refine a cohesive, year-long professional learning curriculum that develops leaders, teachers, and staff in alignment with Zeta's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as an architect of professional learning experiences, ensuring sessions are intentionally sequenced, connected to one another, and drive meaningful changes in adult practice and student outcomes.
  • Design and facilitate high-impact professional learning experiences for school leaders, teachers, and network staff, leveraging expertise in adult learning, instructional leadership, and change management.
  • Create training materials inclusive of: facilitator guides, toolkits, protocols, slide decks, online courses, and other resources that support successful implementation of professional learning initiatives across the network.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify development needs and design learning experiences that address organizational priorities, strengthen team performance, and support long-term employee growth.
  • Embody a team-oriented mindset to ensure all professional learning is designed to do what is best for kids and achieve outcomes.
  • Establish systems to collect, analyze, and synthesize participant feedback and performance data in order to evaluate impact and continuously improve professional learning experiences.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major professional learning initiatives, maintaining ownership of project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Contribute as a member of a lean, high-performing team by taking on additional projects and responsibilities in support of organizational priorities.
  • Wear multiple hats as a part of a lean scale-up team, supporting the work of others on the team and taking on new projects and tasks as needed.
