About The Position

Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti-poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. Through 70+ programs, they support over 35,000 adults and children each year, including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, seniors, and children with developmental delays. The Associate Director of Operations, under the supervision of the Director of Program Services, is responsible for the management of operational functions such as food service, housekeeping, repairs and improvements, transportation, and linen and supply. This role supports Safe Dwelling II, a facility providing comprehensive services and safe, anonymous housing for individuals and their children experiencing domestic violence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Five years of relevant experience including two years in a supervisory capacity
• Excellent communication skills
• Word processing and spreadsheet computer skills

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned departments for quality operational services
• Ensure facility complies with all applicable laws and regulations
• Coordinate with funder on assigned projects
• Manage department staff
• Manage department budget and purchasing activities
