About The Position

The Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care within healthcare facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing nursing staff, coordinating clinical operations, and implementing policies that promote patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards. The ADON collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and maintain effective care plans, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall patient outcomes. Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• The ADON utilizes clinical expertise and leadership skills daily to oversee nursing operations and ensure patient-centered care.
• Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring staff, and addressing patient and family concerns effectively.
• Organizational skills enable the ADON to manage staffing schedules, resources, and compliance documentation efficiently.
• Analytical abilities support the evaluation of care quality metrics and the implementation of improvement strategies.
• Proficiency with healthcare technology, such as electronic health records, facilitates accurate documentation and streamlined clinical workflows.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related advanced degree.
• Experience working in long-term care, acute care, or rehabilitation settings.
• Certification in nursing leadership or administration (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
• Demonstrated success in quality improvement and staff development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations and staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and quality care.
• Supervise and support nursing staff by providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth and accountability.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies through regular audits and staff education.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nursing protocols and procedures.
• Manage resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to optimize patient care delivery.
• Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities within the nursing department.
