The Associate Director of Events and Volunteer Management is responsible for building strong relationships with UNC School of Social Work alumni and friends, the Board of Advisors, and Alumni Council to advance the mission and vision of the School of Social Work. This position reports to the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and is expected to develop, budget, and implement donor and alumni events, working independently under the direction of Advancement leadership to plan and execute board and alumni council activities. The role involves planning current school-wide signature events like the Bobby Boyd Leadership Lecture and creating a special events program of local, regional, and virtual engagement opportunities focused on cultivating and stewarding donor support. While prioritizing advancement events, the Associate Director will also coordinate additional events sponsored by the UNC School of Social Work. This role requires keen attention to budgetary and logistical details, as well as creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, this position plays a central role in coordinating volunteer leadership activities, working with the Dean and Chief Development Officer to schedule, plan, and execute all activities related to the Board of Advisors' and Alumni Council's business and meetings, especially as the School embarks on a major fundraising campaign.
