About The Position

The Associate Director of Discipleship & Spiritual Formation works alongside the Discipleship Pastor to shape and foster the formation pathways that encourage Rocky attendees and partners to take their next step in their discipleship to Jesus.

• Understanding of and alignment with Rocky’s theology, vision, and values, using them as a filter for decisions
• Weekend essential staff
• Embodiment of staff values
• Must be able to perform some or all pastoral duties such as preaching, teaching, performing baptisms, serving communion, leading Bible studies, leading prayer, developing faith based programming, performing weddings and funerals, and the like

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastor of Discipleship and Formation with groups, programs, and events that fit within the Rocky Discipleship Framework
• Support the Pastor of Discipleship & Formation in oversight of strategic evangelistic initiatives, such as Alpha
• Involvement in discipleship environments such as Rocky Communities, Rooted, discipleship courses, retreats, conferences, etc.
• Write & curate formational content for distribution over social media and the Rocky app
• Teach in a variety of settings (kids, students, adult discipleship, Sunday mornings) as needed
• Participate on Discipleship and Formation team, lending support to Communities and Connections departments as needed
• Keep informed about current trends, resources, and best practices in Christian Spiritual Formation
• Encourage people to connect relationally and grow spiritually through engagement in the Discipleship Framework
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
