About The Position

Penn State Scranton is seeking a dedicated and student-focused professional to serve as the Associate Director of Disability and Learning Services. This position plays a vital role in supervising campus staff and student employees who support student success through ensuring access to learning support programs and services and through fostering meaningful co-curricular experiences. In the disability services capacity, the Associate Director will coordinate implementation of academic accommodations and learning support services. They will work with students on understanding perspectives on their disabilities, assess functional limitations, review past accommodations, and identify additional support needs. Additionally, the Associate Director will collaborate with faculty and staff to implement accommodations while maintaining academic integrity. Ongoing support includes follow-up meetings and referring students to campus and community resources. The role also involves maintaining accurate records and promoting disability awareness through presentations and outreach. In the learning services capacity, the Associate Director will lead the development and implementation programs and services that enhance student learning and campus engagement. They will support student academic success through the management and oversight of tutoring and learning support services and academic success outreach. The Associate Director assesses program effectiveness, supports service opportunities, and fosters partnerships with campus academic programs and faculty.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Master's Degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field, along with experience in disability services and/or student engagement
  • Strong knowledge of ADA and Section 504, excellent communication and organizational skills
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
